Description:

The Hospitality Unit, nestled within NTU’s Hospitality and Events Office, is committed to the meticulous management and strategic enhancement of NTU’s hospitality assets. Our goal is to ensure that these facilities not only meet global standards but also provide exceptional experiences that mirror the mission and values of NTU. This alignment is pivotal as we strive to support the University’s broader aspirations.
The scope of work includes:
Being responsible for the daily operations of NTU’s diverse hospitality offerings, including NTU’s accommodation, event spaces and F&B assets, ensuring high service standards.
Financial oversight of budget, preparation of monthly reports and oversee invoicing. Collaborate effectively with the team to ensure financial self-sufficiency of the unit by astutely managing costs and optimising revenue streams.

Candidates should possess a depth of knowledge in hospitality management and have a passion for aligning services with NTU’s academic ethos and broader vision. Prior experience in a similar role, complemented by excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude, is essential. Other key requirements include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to events/hospitality management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the hospitality industry, including trends, best practices, and operational nuances
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards specific to the hospitality sector.
  • Technical knowledge in exhibition systems, electrical, carpentry and/or digital printing materials will be an advantage
  • Protocols in handling high level events
  • About 3 to 4 years of relevant working experience in venues / hospitality industry
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in events management, preferably in an academic sector
  • Meticulous attention to detail with high-level of accuracy, demonstrating a strong work ethic and discretion
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Positive attitude, able to work independently as well as collaborate effectively as a responsible and cooperative team player. Demonstrates creativity and resilience in problem-solving
