Description:
You will be part of the RSU team within IMDA’s Strategic Planning and Digital Readiness Group. This team undertakes economic research and data analytics, to sense make and guide strategy and policy development in IMDA. You will apply techniques in econometrics and data science on a variety of data types to derive policy and programme insights, as well as analyse the state of the infocomm media sector. The team will also closely support IMDA’s line divisions’ needs for data and statistics for policy and programme formulation.
We would like to invite an independent and self-motivated individual with a keen interest in driving the growth of Singapore’s digital economy and digital society to join us.
REQUIREMENTS
- Background in Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics or equivalent.
- At least 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in conducting economic research, data wrangling and data analytics (including the use of statistical and predictive modelling techniques, clustering techniques).
- Experience in use of statistical tools such as Stata, SQL, Python/R, as well as data analytics and visuals tools such as Power BI, Tableau.
- Ability to understand complex business issues and to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
- Candidates with more years of experience will be considered for the Manager position.
The position offered will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research, sense making and forecasting of trends relevant to the infocomm and media landscape by synthesising research and data from multiple sources.
- Evaluate economic and social impact of policies and programmes undertaken by IMDA.
- Work closely with stakeholders and line divisions to understand and define data requirements to facilitate evidence-based policy and strategy formulation, and decision-making by IMDA.
- Perform data acquisition, data mining, data and text analytics including data visualisation as required by the line divisions.
- Identify opportunities for data-driven use cases or innovation to promote a data-centric organisational culture.
- Support rollout of data initiatives that aligns with organisational strategy.
