Description:

[What the role is]
CAAS Technology Office plans and implement strategies to enhance Singapore’s competitiveness as an international air hub through research and innovation. We oversee innovation programmes and initiatives for existing as well as emerging areas in aviation including (i) air traffic management, (ii) airport operations, (iii) unmanned aircraft systems and (iv) sustainable aviation.
Within each area, our focus/priorities are to:
1. Develop initiatives and programmes to mature R&D projects into operational capabilities; and
2. Develop capabilities in local industry and research institutes to enhance Singapore’s competitiveness as an air hub.
[What you will be working on]
As an Assistant Manager/ Manager, your key roles and responsibilities include:
o Supporting/Managing the development and implementation of Technology Office’s strategies and initiatives.
o Drafting business cases/proposals to seek buy-in and funding for strategies and initiatives.
o Supporting CAAS’ senior management in engagements with external parties on technology matters.
o Manage existing programmes and funding sources, including tracking of KPIs, meeting secretariat duties, grant administration and utilization.
[What we are looking for]

Requirements

  • Trained in Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills to communicate and market ideas effectively.
  • Possess professionalism and confidence in dealing with people at all levels, especially with industry stakeholders and other government agencies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, and good team player with ability to build consensus.
  • A positive ‘can-do’ attitude amidst a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Experience in the following is advantageous:

o Managing R&D or similar programmes.
o Public sector experience
o Knowledge and experience in aviation trends and developments
o Cross-functional and senior stakeholder engagement
Note: Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
