Description:

As an Assistant Marine Manager, your main job is to help plan and carry out daily marine operations for our projects. You’ll make sure our boats, vessels, and equipment are always ready to go and that we meet all safety and quality standards. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and vendors to ensure everything runs smoothly and we get what we need on time. You’ll also help the Marine Operations Controller with making our department more digital and sustainable.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferably holds a degree or diploma in maritime operations management.
  • Has a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in vessel and marine construction equipment maintenance, or managing marine construction, marina, shipyard, or port operations.Has at least 2 years of experience in vendor/contractor management.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, develop, and supervise crew members for dredger barge operations, reclamation projects, and jetty building tasks.
  • Ensure that crew operations comply with safety regulations and standards.
  • Create crew rotation schedules and make sure there are enough staff members for each project.
  • Oversee day-to-day marine operations, including dredging activities, reclamation processes, and jetty construction projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely execution of tasks and adherence to project schedules.
  • Implement and standardize operational procedures to optimize efficiency, minimize downtime and achieve quality standards.
  • Supervise maintenance schedules and repairs for dredger barges, reclamation equipment, and machinery used in jetty construction.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to handle equipment failures and enhance performance.
  • Plan drydock schedules for fleet vessels.
  • Provide daily reports on vessel defects and readiness status.
  • Introduce Resource Management System and report on progress.
  • Keep abreast of marine technology advancements and suggest equipment upgrades or acquisitions.
  • Introduce cutting-edge technologies and data analysis to streamline and automate marine operations, boosting efficiency and facilitating better decision-making.Introduce sustainability measures or practices to reduce environmental impact during marine operations and projects.
