Description:
[What the role is]
The Travel Agents & Tourist Guides (TATG) Division is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to make a difference and chart the strategic direction of the Tourist Guides (TGs) community in Singapore. Being an integral part of the tourism ecosystem, TGs are critical assets who showcase the Singapore Story and create positive memorable experiences through storytelling. To raise the professionalism and quality of licensed TGs, the Tourist Guides Department (TGD) looks at the holistic development of TGs, ranging from training curriculum, licence policies, enhancing the TG association capabilities, to upholding legislation.
We believe that the community of Travel Agents, Tour Operators and Tourist Guides are inter-dependent. As such, being a part of TATG will provide great exposure and cross-department collaboration opportunities to expand one’s experience in the travel space.
[What you will be working on]
As a member of the TGD team, you will be playing an instrumental role in shaping the TG landscape through the Future of Guiding (FOG 2.0) strategy to raise the profile of guiding to attract talent in the industry. You will oversee the professional development of TGs, as well as work closely with the TG associations, travel agents/ tour operators and training organisations to foster an integrated guiding ecosystem.
This exciting and meaningful opportunity offers you the chance to make a significant impact on the quality of tourist guiding in Singapore and push for the professional growth of tourist guides.

- Develop and execute a Continual Education framework partnering relevant stakeholders like training providers and TG associations.

- Work with Government agencies to ensure that incentives are in place to promote a lifelong learning culture for TGs
Change Management
- Lead change management efforts to drive the adoption of new standards, technologies, and practices within the TG industry
Stakeholder management - TG Associations
- Work with the TG associations to unify the TG community
[What we are looking for]
- At least 2 years of work experience in managing relationships with stakeholders to achieve outcome.

- Enjoy challenges and problem solving
- Some understanding of travel/ tourist guide ecosystem
