Description:

As an Assistant Marine Manager, you will play a key role in the planning and execution of day-to-day marine operations to support the projects, maintaining the operational readiness of the sea crafts, vessels, dredger barges and equipment, as well as ensure all required marine support are consistently and promptly met with high levels of safety, quality, service, and customer satisfaction.
This is primarily achieved through efficient coordination with our Project Managers and effective vendor management to ensure that the services provided are of a high standard, as well as performing procurement processes to obtain new equipment and services.
You are also expected to assist Marine Operations Controller to value add to the Marine Department in its transformation on digitalisation and sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Crewing Management:
  • Recruit, train, development and manage crew members for dredger barge operations, reclaimation projects, and jetty building activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in crew operations.Develop crew rotation schedules and ensure adequate staffing for projects.

  1. Operation Management:
  • Oversee day-to-day marine operations, including dredging activities, reclaimation processes, and jetty construction projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely execution of tasks and adherence to project schedules.Implement and standardise operational procedures to optimize efficiency, minimize downtime and achieve quality standards.

  1. Technical Management:
  • Manage maintenance schedules and repairs for dredger barges, reclaimation equipment, and jetty construction machinery.
  • Liaise with technical teams to address equipment failures and optimise performance.
  • Schedule drydock for fleet vessels.
  • Daily update on vessels defects and readiness condition.
  • Implement Resource Management System and progress reporting.Stay updated on advancements in marine technology and recommend upgrades or new equipment acquisition.

  1. Assist Marine Operations Controller in assigned initiatives and projects to support Marine Department’s Transformation in Digitalisation and Sustainability Management:
  • Implement innovative technologies and data analytics to streamline and automate marine operations to enhance efficiency and improve decision-making.Implement sustainability initiatives or sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact during marine operations and projects.
