The Assistant Mine Accountant’s primary focus is the provision of accurate and timely financial accounting information to internal stakeholders allowing both operational and corporate requirements to be met. This includes but is not limited to management and financial accounting, capital expenditure management and evaluation, budgeting and forecasting, contract evaluation, production and project reporting.
About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Month end processing and reporting for operational and capital expenditure.
  • Providing timely and accurate cost accruals.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly and yearly budgets and forecasts.
  • Mentoring cost owners in cost control, accruals and commercial responsibilities.
  • Assisting the Commercial Manager to improve commercial systems and the preparation and presentation of staff commercial training sessions.

Roster and Location:

  • Monday to Friday professional roster
  • Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)

About You:

  • Possess a degree in commerce, accounting or equivalent.
  • Hold CPA or CA qualifications (or in progress).
  • 2 years relevant experience in the industry.
  • Ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem solve.
  • A sound understanding of information systems and processes.
  • Ability to utilise Microsoft Office.
