Contract : Permanent-Part time - 22.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator in the Department of Rheumatology. You will have the unique opportunity to support and gain experience within the Specialist Services.
The post holder will provide a pivotal administrative service to consultants and their clinical teams. They will work flexibly with the other team members within the Clinical Support Unit and provide a professional, efficient administrative service to patients. In addition they will be expected to be able to provide scheduling support when required, including the booking of outpatient activity and waiting list management. This post is 0.6 WTE to cover Monday to Friday and the working hours are 9am-5pm.
We are looking for an independent, enthusiastic and well organised person to join our busy team. The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal and organising skills, attention to detail, IT skills and ability to communicate across all levels. The successful candidate will be providing support to the clinical teams and ensuring continuation of service at all times.
This role will be working alongside the Patient Pathway Coordinators within Rheumatology. All staff are supported with their training needs and regularly share learning opportunities within the department.

Consultants are supported in their work by nurses, therapists and other specialist clinical staff who are trained experts in their particular fields of orthopaedic care.
This role will primarily be focussed on supporting the Clinical Team within Rheumatology.
Duties will include: toping and tailing of correspondence, chasing results, cashing up clinics, managing Rheumatology and Metabolic inbox, fully utilising clinics, recording and validating activity on PAS systems, and liaising with internal stakeholders. Good understanding of the 18 weeks referral to treatment (RTT) standard and waiting list management experience is desirable. A good knowledge of the electronic referral system (e-RS) is an advantage but not essential.
