Responsibilities:

  • General:
  • It is part of your role to understand and disseminate/communicate all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures to the colleagues.
  • MOHG Code of Conduct requires that all business activities and business decisions comply with the general law, and with all rules, regulations and other requirements.
  • It is part of your strategy to fully understand and support in all aspects the Mandarin Oriental, Muscat People and Culture Strategic Policy.
  • It is part of your role and your responsibility to fully support all learning and development activities.

  • Update and maintain a complete Training Matrix for your department.
  • Update and maintain Job Description and Job Specification Matrix your department.
  • Ensure the colleagues’ career path and development needs are being prioritised and documented in accordance with the MO Profile online system.
  • Hold monthly meetings with all colleagues to assure they have a forum to voice any concerns or challenges and share departmental and hotel information.
  • You shall take all reasonable steps to safeguard stored information, and not divulge or otherwise transfer any personal data concerning the guests, customers or colleagues, or any confidential information concerning the hotel unless with the appropriate authority.
  • Use of the hotel’s network, computers or internet access which is in the hotel’s view unreasonable or inappropriate, for example gambling, chatroom, or pornographic material, is a serious breach of hotel policy and grounds for summary dismissal.
  • Support and adhere to all policies & procedures relating to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental.
  • Ensure compliance with the MOHG Social Media Policy, i.e. to be fully responsible for the content you publish on any social media platform, including your personal site.

To carry out any additional duties requested by management, related to hotel operational activities.

  • Departmental:
  • Support, develop, implement, and adhere to corporate & hotel People and Culture policies and procedures.
  • To adhere with all Oman Legislation relating to People and Culture.
  • To be readily available for counselling with empathy, open communication ensuring reliability and confidentiality.
  • Participates in the hotel incentive programs by providing support through training and recognition.
  • To work closely with departments ensuring the hotels recruitment needs are met to be able to delight our guests. This includes developing job descriptions and job specifications, preparing job advertisements checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates.
  • To ensure the job description and specification matrix is up to date.
  • To assist and support any survey project launched by the hotel or MOHG.
  • To be in charge of supervising and managing any form of communication platform.
  • To support in maintaining the information in HRIS on daily basis.
  • To assist the payroll process as and when required.
  • To lead and organise any social activities for the colleagues.
  • To manage all personnel procedures regarding starters, transfers, promotions and variations plus leavers, liaising with the Finance department.
  • Interacts with individuals outside the hotel including, but not limited to, guests, other Assistant People and Culture Managers, competitors and other members of the local community.
  • Establishes and maintains effective colleague relations.
  • Oversee the Colleague Dining room along with the Culinary team and the Colleague Locker Rooms along with the Housekeeping & Engineering team.
  • Contributes towards other hotel activities as appropriate.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests as directed by the Director of People and Culture or Assistant Director of People and Culture.
