THE OPPORTUNITY

Our busy medical centre is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Medical Receptionist looking to take the next step.
As Assistant Practice Manager you will be part of the reception team and support the Practice Manager in the day to day operation of the Medical Centre.
The position is expected to be Permanent full time.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous medical reception experience is essential
  • Understanding of business operations in a healthcare practice
  • Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to master new processes and IT
  • Previous experience with Best Practice Software is an advantage
  • Previous leadership or supervisory position in a medical practice is desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Practice Manager with performance management and general administrative processes
  • Assist the Practice Manager with implementing initiatives and promotions to improve centre performance
  • Support and development of reception and nursing teams including rostering
  • Maintaining a safe, healthy and professional working environment
  • Ensure process and systems are in accordance with the National Standards of Accreditation
  • Welcome and assist patients with enquires and appointments
  • Answer and respond to telephone enquiries in a courteous and professional manner
  • Accurately process patient payments via direct bill, cash and TYRO
  • Support the provision of accurate and timely financial and practice data
  • Take responsibility for staff management and the efficient delivery of administrative and customer service aspects of the centre in the Practice Manager’s absence
