POSITION INFORMATION

Bankstown Public School is a large multicultural school of 760 students and is located within the CBD of Bankstown. 98% of students are from non–English speaking backgrounds and 7 are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students. There are currently 48 language backgrounds with 29% speaking Arabic, 17% speaking Vietnamese and 12% speaking Urdu.
The staff at Bankstown Public School are a highly committed and diverse group of experienced and early career teachers. There are 29 mainstream classes and a Support Unit consisting of 2 IO/AU classes, an AU class and an IM class. The school has a Community Hub coordinator who works with the community to build parent capacity to support student learning. BPS has very strong student welfare programs and the school supports a Playtime program for preschool aged students and their parents and continues to foster and build community participation and support.
