Cornish Lithium is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Process Scientist or Engineer to support the Senior Process Engineer in specifying, identifying, and delivering the technology necessary for a Lithium Extraction Process Plant from geothermal brine.
The ideal candidate will have completed a Degree or equivalent qualification and have some experience of working in a relevant industry. You should have excellent written and oral communication skills, as you will need to communicate successfully across all levels of the Company as well as with external contractors.

As an Assistant Process Scientist/Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Writing experimental methods and work with laboratory equipment to further CLL’s understanding of lithium recovery from geothermal brine.
  • Writing reports and give presentations.
  • Assist with small scale pilot plant build, sampling strategies, and data assessment.
  • Developing the correct Health and Safety culture by writing risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments and working safely and responsibly.
  • During operational periods the position will need to be flexible with respect to working overtime or weekend work to deliver operational scopes.

Interested to develop/enhance skills in:

  • Delivering process engineering documents, excel calculations, mass and energy balances, and process flow diagrams.
  • Reviewing P&ID’s to ensure an operable and efficient design is proposed and implemented.
  • Keen to learn the principles to create an efficient lithium recovery process.

Essential

  • Analytical skills
  • Competence in Excel & Word.
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative and be pro-active.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Keen to work both in the office and on site.

Desirable

  • Knowledge for water treatment technologies and/or mineral processing.
  • Statistical knowledge and data assessment experience.
  • Technical drawing capable
