SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Assistant Production Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of quality control within the manufacturing sector and will provide effective leadership and supervision to our operational team. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to workplace health and safety standards, and a focus on environmental sustainability.

The preferred candidate should possess the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Applied Science or Sugar Technology (preferred). Trades qualifications will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years knowledge and understanding of industrial processing
• Demonstrated safety leadership skills.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a Production and / or Manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in a team, develop employees and identify improvement opportunities.
• Problem solving, proactive and energetic approach.
• Ability to work a mixture of ‘shift and day work during the crush’

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in and knowledge of environmental management systems and processes (preferred)
• Knowledge and end experience in the operation of a raw sugar manufacturing process
• Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP
• Working understanding and knowledge of industrial operations software (SCADA)
