REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate in Aeronautical Science, Public Administration, Transportation, Business,
Education, or other fields aligned with teaching and research in aviation. Excellent
ABD candidates may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Any Federal Aviation Administration Certificate(s), flight, dispatch, air traffic control,
mechanic, or unmanned.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Aviation Institute at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) seeks applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor position. A successful candidate will possess a doctorate in Aeronautical Science, Public Administration, Transportation, Business, Education, or other fields aligned with teaching and research in aviation. Candidates for the position should be able to teach undergraduate courses in the Aviation Institute’s core curriculum and one of our concentrations. The successful candidate would have a proposed research agenda related to aviation, transportation, safety, human factors, diversity and inclusion, workforce development, crewed and uncrewed aircraft, or other related areas. A successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to teach in higher education and possess strong written and oral communication skills. While not required, it would benefit a candidate to hold an FAA pilot and/or remote pilot certificate. ABDs will be considered but must demonstrate the capacity to complete the requirements of the doctorate before the August 2024 preferred start date.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Provide support and services to the Aviation Institute, School, College, and
University. Participate in community outreach and engagement events and activities.
