ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, CIVIL, GEOLOGICAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Structural Engineering/Construction Engineering & Management at the Assistant Professor level with the Department of Civil, Geological, and Environmental Engineering.
The successful candidate will be pivotal in enhancing the structural engineering program by focusing on innovative applied technology improvements at the intersection of structural engineering and construction management. They will initiate and lead a strong research program that integrates innovative technologies such as 3D concrete printing, drone usage in construction, robotics, and SMART buildings. The candidate is expected to compete successfully for external funding to support this research program through collaboration with the construction industry, mining sectors, and provincial and federal government agencies. The appointee will supervise graduate student research projects; teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as structural engineering, construction technology, and project management; and undertake relevant administrative activities. Opportunities exist to develop research collaborations with industry partners and other researchers within the department and beyond.
The Department of Civil, Geological, and Environmental Engineering offers undergraduate programs in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, and Environmental Engineering and a postgraduate program in Civil Engineering at the M.Eng., M.Sc., and Ph.D. levels. We are seeking candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering or Construction Engineering & Management with an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or a related program that included structural engineering courses. Applicants must demonstrate the potential to develop a robust research program that contributes to novel and innovative technologies at the intersection of Structural Engineering and Construction Engineering & Management, preferably with a focus on sustainable and innovative practices. Potential for strong collaboration with the construction industry in Canada is required, with professional experience in Structural Engineering and Construction Engineering & Management in North America being an asset. Applicants must show competence in and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. The successful candidate will be a Professional Engineer in Canada or have the background and willingness to successfully pursue membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan as a Professional Engineer.
Salary bands for this position for the 2024-2025 academic year are as follows:
Assistant Professor: $99,945 to $120,099
