DESCRIPTION
The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS), invites applications from physicians trained in pediatric immunology/allergy for an academic position within the Division of Pediatric Immunology, Hematology/Oncology, Palliative Care and Environmental Health (iHOPE) in the Department of Pediatrics and the Stollery Children’s Hospital. The position is full-time 1.0 FTE, with 60% clinical service and 40% academic duties.
The successful candidate will be joining one academic pediatric immunologist within the iHOPE division providing a full spectrum of clinical immunology services. In addition to clinical care, the members of the division are active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The division also has an active basic and clinical science research program, collaborating locally, nationally, and internationally.

The successful applicant will have:
- MD degree (or equivalent) and have completed subspecialty residency in Pediatric Allergy/Immunology and be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatric Allergy/Immunology).
- Fellowship training in Immunology and Allergy.
- Clinical training in primary immunodeficiency and oral immunotherapy
- Research experience in novel primary immune deficiency
The applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and hold appropriate liability coverage.
The successful candidate will be offered a contingent-tenure track appointment in the Department of Pediatrics, which is in accordance with the University of Alberta Faculty Agreement and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be based on the income scale of a competitive and highly successful academic alternate funding plan.
