Assistant Professor of History

at  Coppin State University

This is a full-time faculty position for someone to teach upper and lower-level courses in History and African American Studies in the Department of Humanities within the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE).

EDUCATION:

• Doctorate degree required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Three (3) years of teaching experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to use different teaching modalities, face to face and Online teaching.
• Prior experience working with a diverse population of students in diverse learning environments.
• Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively on university-wide committees.
• Demonstrate ability to interact with students to support their pression to the degree and their service to community.
  Preferred Qualification

• Teach lower and upper-level undergraduate History and African American Studies courses.
• Maintain professional growth and development, including conducting scholarly research.
• Maintain office hours, conference with students, and conduct advisement with assigned advisees.
• Participate in service activities conducted by the University, College, Department, and Community, which includes outreach to Community Colleges and High Schools.
• Other duties as assigned as related to faculty workload policy.
