Concord University Department of Social Work invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, 9 month, Assistant Professor of Social Work beginning Fall 2024.
The Department of Social Work has offered the BSW program since 1976. The position requires a MSW with at least two years of post-MSW practice experience in Social Work or a preferred Doctorate in Social Work or a related field.
Teaching responsibilities include practice courses, human behavior courses, and policy course. Teaching load is four courses per semester with advising responsibilities

REQUIRED SKILLS

Concord is seeking a faculty member with an enthusiasm for teaching, intellectual vigor, strong human relations and communication abilities, and a demonstrated record of post-MSW practice for at least two-years. The individual should adhere to NASW values and ethics and be strongly committed working with non-traditional, rural students.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching
• Demonstrate the capacity to produce peer-reviewed scholarship
• A minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience is required in clinical, community or policy practice

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated effectiveness in working with and teaching diverse populations.
• Two or more years of experience teaching social work at the undergraduate or graduate level in online, hybrid and on ground formats.
• Clinical, community or policy social work practice experience with a range of populations, ages, and/or settings.
