Schulich School of Engineering is a strong promoter of innovative teaching and learning practices, with a focus on active and experiential learning. The school has recently renovated an extensive amount of space to facilitate meaningful studio-based active learning classrooms where students can engage with classwork in Schulich Studio, a dynamic, team-based learning environment. The common first-year engineering experience in the Schulich School of Engineering is delivered with a strong focus on active learning in the classroom. Active learning includes project-based learning, classroom demos, hands-on learning, discussions, worksheets, and other active approaches. These new faculty members will be primarily involved in the delivery and continual improvement of the first-year program, and may also contribute to upper-year courses. Candidates with an earned doctoral or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Education or other closely related engineering field, or those who will have earned a doctoral or master’s degree in one of these fields by the anticipated start date are invited to apply for the position in Computing and Statics. The successful candidate is expected to be eligible to register as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
