Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to Newport Community Learning Disability Team on a fixed term for 6 months 0.8 WTE. We are seeking a motivated, conscientious individual who is committed to supporting psychological interventions for adults with a learning disability.
The post holder will support the Psychologist in the Newport team to deliver person centred psychological interventions through working directly with individuals and through the systems that support service users. A strong value base is essential. There are also opportunities for service development.
Professional support and clinical supervision will be provided by the Principal Psychologist. Peer support is provided through the speciality and wider psychology network.

Responsibilities:

Undertaking psychological assessments and interventions as part of the multi-professional team and as delegated by the Clinical Psychologist.
Supporting the Clinical Psychologist to undertake clinically relevant research, service evaluation and audit.
Supporting the Clinical Psychologist to undertake teaching and training.
Carry out other duties as part of the role and as delegated by the Clinical Psychologist.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
