Description:

North West London Intensive Care Unit Psychology is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join this sector wide project.
This part time (0.8wte) Assistant Psychologist post will be a vital clinical and administrative component of designing and delivering the project to scope current ICU Psychology Services, discover how psychology might best support the multi-disciplinary team, and co-design psychoeducation and supervision guidance for the sector.
There is the possibility for hybrid working arrangements.
The NWL ICU Psychology services offers psychological assessment and support to patients and relatives, to improve both short-term and long-term outcomes from ICU, including quality of life. Support, consultation and training are needed for ICU clinical staff, who are known to be at high risk of work-related stress or burnout, especially in the wake of the pandemic. Consequently, a professional psychology team to provide psychological assessment and support for patients, families and critical care staff is essential. Currently, there is great variation in the provision of ICU psychology services across the sector. The North West London Critical Care Network Group have commissioned this project to scope out what services currently exist, to liaise with the various multidisciplinary teams about how best psychology might support their work, and to co-design psychoeducation and supervision guidance for the sector.
The Assistant Psychologist will collate and manage data streams relevant to the project, liaise with colleagues across the sector and support the project lead in designing and developing a psychoeducation programme for healthcare professionals. There will be some scope for direct clinical work supervised by the ICU Psychology Lead.
This work will be supervised by the Interim Deputy Head of Clinical Health Psychology and there will be the opportunity to network with the group of Assistant Psychologists already working in Clinical Health Psychology in the Trust.
