Accountable to: Senior Psychologist/Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing
Base: St. Doolagh’s Park Care and Rehabilitation Centre, Malahide Road, Balgriffin, Dublin 17.
Contract: Fixed term 2 year contract (Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:00)

JOB SUMMARY:

To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing specialist assessment and neurorehabilitation services to adults with acquired brain injuries.

3. REQUIREMENTS

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition who:
(a)(i) Have a Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) accredited qualification at not less than a Level 8 at 2.1 honours grade on the QQI qualifications framework in which psychology was a major subject,
OR
(a)(ii) A Level 8 honours degree in another subject (2.1 or higher) together with an accredited conversion qualification at a minimum of (2.1) as conferring eligibility for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland
OR
(a)(iii) A qualification equivalent to the above accredited by the British Psychological Society for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
OR
(a)(iv) A qualification equivalent to either (i) or (ii) which would allow the applicant to become a graduate member of the PSI.

Responsibilities:

Clinical
Under supervision, administer neuropsychological assessments/psychometrics and functional behavioural assessments and positive behaviour support plans.
Facilitate and assist in individual therapeutic sessions.
Prepare and assist in the coordination and running of group interventions (e.g. social communication or mindfulness groups).
To assist in the formulation and development of a neuropsychologically based framework to understand a persons’ difficulties.
Assist in providing family support and psychoeducation as required.
Contribute and collaborate as part of the multidisciplinary team in the development, implementation, administration, and review of specialist rehabilitation programmes.
Participate in supervision and ongoing continuing professional development both internally and externally as related to post.
Administration
To supports service evaluations, including ongoing group evaluations and other outcome measures, and oversee the outcome measure database and contribute to service evaluation reports as required.
Maintain appropriate clinical records of service provided.
Implement and maintain high standards of professional practice as outlined by the Professional Code of Practice by the Psychological Society of Ireland.
Other clinically related administration as appropriate
