QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimally, a Fundamentals Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (FECCE).
  • Previous experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

The ideal candidate will support the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment. This role is pivotal in assisting with the implementation of their unique curriculum and ensuring each child’s individual needs are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the lead teacher in daily classroom activities.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through interactive play and structured activities.
  • Ensure the classroom is a safe and welcoming space, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Observe and document children’s progress, providing feedback to parents and the lead teacher.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
  • Assist with maintaining classroom cleanliness and organization.
