Description:

The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) delivers high quality and distinctive educational programmes for adult learners, predominantly studying on a part-time basis, for either personal enrichment or professional development. ICE aims to ensure that the expertise and resources of the University of Cambridge are made available to all students, irrespective of their previous educational achievements.

The Professional & Technical Education Portfolio is organised around 4 subject groups:

  • Business & Administration (Coaching/Management/Entrepreneurship)
  • Education (English Language Assessment)
  • Digital (Data Science/Artificial Intelligence/Cyber Security)
  • Construction & The Built Environment (Architecture Apprenticeship)

To support the ongoing delivery of this portfolio and its further development, we wish to appoint an Assistant Teaching Professor (0.4 FTE) to oversee all programmes in the Coaching subject group, and an Assistant Teaching Professor (0.4 FTE) to oversee the MSt in Coaching. Applicants who wish to apply for both roles (0.8 FTE) will be considered, however, this will be dependent on experience.
The Assistant Teaching Professor will be responsible for contributing for learning and teaching as well as assuming leadership responsibility for the programme(s) and contributing to the development of new programmes within the wider portfolio. The appointee will also be expected to play a role in the delivery of ICE’s wider continuing education offer.
The successful candidate will have a recognised scholarly profile in interdisciplinary Leadership & Coaching, as well as proven track record in delivering excellent learning and teaching and programme management. Candidates with experience of designing and delivering programmes for part-time postgraduate students in professional roles, as well as a commitment to work flexibly to meet the needs of our students are particularly encouraged to apply.
Informal enquiries are encouraged and can be made to Dr Claire McCafferty, Director of Academic Programmes (cm2265@cam.ac.uk).
Questions about the application process may be directed to: ICEHRAdministration@admin.cam.ac.uk.
