Description:

Financial Management department is in charge of planning, organising, directing and controlling the financial activities of the Bank. The department performs a variety of financial functions, including accounting and financial reporting, fixed asset and expenses management, budget and management reporting, taxation (indirect and direct), regulatory reporting, treasury (asset and liability management) and capital management. As an Assistant Vice President - Accounting, you will be responsible for providing accounting knowledge and technical support including preparing statutory accounts on a non-banking entity. You will ensure adequate financial control is maintained including reconciliations and substantiations. This is a 12 months fixed term contract.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree educated in Finance or Accounting
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA)
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Experience in Banking is preferable but not necessary
  • Technical expertise in accounting operations under IFRS
  • Demonstrable business transformation and process improvement skills
  • Knowledge and experience of financial products and services
  • Team player who is able to work independently
  • Excellent Excel Skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate accounting treatments of applicable International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Provide accounting technical support
  • Provide ad-hoc support and to generally assist the department
  • Preparation of disclosure notes for financial statements
  • Liaise with external auditors
  • Assist in the delivery of Head Office reporting
  • Build effective working relationships with the wider Bank as well as within the team
