Description:

Financial Crime and Compliance (FC&C) department is responsible for ensuring that all financial crime and compliance risks within the Bank are identified, managed or mitigated. It establishes and maintains the Bank’s regulatory communications, compliance risk management, regulatory reporting and compliance advisory. As an Assistant Vice President - Financial Crime/AML, you will support and assist with day-to-day functions and operations within the Financial Crime and Compliance department in respect of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) and other financial crime risks. You will ensure the Bank has robust controls around AML, Terrorist Financing, Fraud, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption to remain compliant and meet the requirements of all appropriate regulations and legislation. This is a full time permanent position.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree educated preferably in Law, Banking or Finance
  • ICA Advanced Certification in Financial Crime or AML and CTF specific certification from ICA, CISI, CAMS or similar
  • Solid Banking experience is ideal
  • Solid understanding of Retail and Corporate Banking products and related processes
  • Knowledge of FCA/PRA Handbook
  • Knowledge of JMLSG Guidance
  • Financial Crime experience, including AML, Terrorist Financing, Sanctions, Bribery and Corruption, Tax Evasion and Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
  • Experience drafting Financial Crime policies and procedures
  • Good report writing skills

Responsibilities:

  • Take a lead in the planning, preparation and completion of AML, CTF and other financial crime-related controls as and when required under the guidance of the Team Lead
  • In respect of AML and CTF, review regulatory guidance and change, assessing its impact upon the Bank. Summarise and distribute outputs with proposals for required actions
  • Create and maintain risk assessments for AML and CTF, ensuring reviews are conducted in line with policy and in timely manner
  • Maintain parameters of systems for customer risk rating and due diligence activities
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of new AML and CTF policies and procedures as required in order to meet the requirements of new regulations and Head Office requirements and embed these within the Bank
  • Act as the Bank’s subject matter expert in relation to AML and CTF matters
  • Take the lead in Financial Crime and Compliance-related projects in respect of Financial Crime
  • Take responsibility for preparation and collation of the annual MLRO report and any ad-hoc reporting in advance of approval by Head of Department
  • Ensure reporting in respect of AML and CTF outputs is completed accurately and on a timely basis. This includes regular reporting to the Team Lead, Compliance Committee and Board Meetings as well as ad-hoc Management Information (MI) as required
  • Participate in the planning, preparation and delivery of AML and CTF and other financial crime related training
  • Provide day-to-day support to other members of the Financial Crime team and be available to resolve any issues that may arise while carrying out their daily tasks requiring SME knowledge of AML and CTF
  • Ensure matters that require escalation are notified to the team lead in a timely and effective manner to enable support to be provided and where necessary onward notification to Head of Department and MLRO/Senior Management
  • Ensure daily referrals and queries submitted to the Financial Crime Team are addressed and responded in an efficient, accurate and timely manner with adequate record keeping
