Description:

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

A QQI Level 8 degree or professional qualification or higher in one of the following disciplines: Applied Social Studies / Allied Health or Nursing / Social Worker / Occupational Therapist / Community Work, General Management is essential.
Several years in a supervisory management role with people management experience is essential.
Previous experience of working within the disability sector or similar services is an advantage. Candidates from other sectors need to be able to demonstrate that they have relevant transferable skills.
A full driver’s license and use of your own car is essential.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Strong communication, creativity, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Strong time management and planning skills
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
Experience of working with people with disabilities or a marginalised group is desirable.
Strong administrative and excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office Database Management) are essential.
Fluent English speaker

Responsibilities:

Manage the operation of the service in line with IWA policy and procedures and best practice ensuring that a high-quality person-centered service is always provided.
Manage/supervise/support and assist core ALS staff and Healthcare Assistants in the provision of a high-quality service to service users.
Assess new referrals and appropriately allocate a service to meet identified needs.
Match service requirements with existing Healthcare Assistant staff as appropriate and recruit Healthcare Assistants to provide services as required.
Monitor and evaluate the services provided on an ongoing basis.
Ensure induction and mandatory training for Healthcare Assistants is provided and identify additional training as required.
Ensure that working Rota’s are maintained and day-to-day administrative duties associated with Assisted Living Services are carried out, ensuring accurate records are kept in relation to services provided.
Liaise with and refer to other Community statutory and voluntary services to ensure the provision of a total package of care which meets the service user’s needs.
Ensure that issues relating to the Health and Safety of staff and services users are promptly addressed in an appropriate manner.
Ensure complaints, investigations and safeguarding concerns are managed in line with IWA policies and procedures.
Ensure that your responsibilities to safeguard children and adults from abuse or harm is a core aspect of your role and that IWA’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
Be flexible and responsive to the needs of the service user and identify potential development issues within the service.
Manage and support new and innovative ways of supporting the needs of service users within the Assisted Living Service.
Support IWA’s fundraising activities.
Carry out any other related duties as required.
