We are looking for a talented Associate to join our dynamic and expanding Architectural team. You will have the opportunity to work on an array of projects across a variety of sectors including blue light, commercial, custodial, education, healthcare, industrial, leisure and residential.
As an Associate you will be part of the management team and will undertake a variety of management duties, including being a line manager for a number of individuals.
In addition, an Associate works is responsible for leading the whole design team on project delivery, through all stages of a project, to ensure a high-quality service and the best design and technical solution is achieved for the client, under the leadership of a project director.

The role includes:

  • Support the strategic objectives of the business and assist in achieving them.
  • Contribute to the discipline’s Management Team, working with other senior colleagues to manage and direct the discipline.
  • Responsible for the management duties that are assigned to you.
  • Undertake line management duties and provide pastoral care to the team assigned to you.
  • Leading and delivering a variety of projects, from small to large, in different sectors, through all stages of a project. The role will sometimes include being part of a large team on major projects.
  • Working alongside the project director to produce, manage and control the project brief, fees, costs, programme and deliverables.
  • Leading the design, detailing, specification and coordination of projects from inception to completion.
  • Communicating with the client and all members of the project team at all times.
  • Organise and chair all necessary meetings and project reviews
  • Working in a multi discipline environment and managing the project team.
  • Keeping the project director informed at all times
  • Fully support and manage the architectural teams assigned to your projects.
  • Ensuring the team understand and comply with all relevant legislation related to the project.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and proficient Associate. If you are a creative, proactive, enthusiastic, responsible and practical person, with an interest in sustainable design we would love to hear from you.

Key skills we would like you to have:

  • Qualified Architect or Technologist.
  • Passionate about design.
  • Experienced at line management and have excellent people skills – ability to effectively communicate, understand and empathise with the people you line manage and everyone you interact with.
  • Honest and reliable with high levels of integrity and respect.
  • Experience in leading large complex projects.
  • Vast sector experience within all stages
  • Excellent technical detailing knowledge with an understanding of sustainable design solutions
  • Previous experience using NBS.
  • Excellent contract administration knowledge.
  • Current technical standards and regulations knowledge.
  • Excellent at multitasking and working to tight deadlines.
  • Confident in communication; writing, drawing, on screen and in person. Including client facing skills, combined with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Self-motivated, friendly, efficient and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to work collaboratively with the team
  • Proficient at REVIT and fluency in Microsoft office.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in expressing your design ideas through hand drawings or rough sketching.
