Description:

An environment that makes people feel valued and happy doesn’t just help to get the best work out of them - it sparks big ideas, enables new thinking and creates a collaborative environment. That’s why we’ve worked hard to create an open culture, where everyone’s voice is heard and where we are always looking for the next big thing to make Ogier the best place to work.
Key Responsibilities
At Associate level you will begin to provide input to partners and begin to develop negotiating skills in the preparation of new matter fee estimates and quotes. Staying up to date with new legislation and topics of interest in the relevant markets and how these changes affect clients and matters is also key.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising clients on all matters relating to banking and finance and regulatory issues
  • Being involved in a wide variety of finance operations such as secured lending, acquisition and real estate finance, financial collateral arrangements, bond issues and listings on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, etc.
  • Initiating, building and maintaining effective client relationships
  • You will need to manage your own financial responsibilities including time recording, billing, WIP and debt, ensuring clients are fully informed as to the fees and disbursements that will be incurred on each matter.

Other responsibilities include assisting with the orientation of new joiners and interns, and developing strong relationships with immediate team members.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • You have completed a postgraduate law degree, ideally complemented with an additional degree gained abroad (LL.M or Business School degree)
  • You have gained a meaningful banking & finance / corporate experience (3-4 years’ post qualification experience) ideally in a top tier law firm with international exposure
  • You are admitted to the Bar in Luxembourg or another EU jurisdiction, or have attended or are eligible to attend the CCDL
  • You are a team player and would like to be professionally involved in an international environment, with the ability to work effectively in a team and sometimes under pressure
  • You are autonomous, dynamic, flexible, proactive, service-oriented and have excellent communication skills
  • You have a perfect command of both written and spoken English and French. Any other language would be an asset.

Team work is important to us and so we want someone motivated, proactive and personable with a passion for banking and finance to join our team.
