GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Associate, Bankruptcy Support is primarily responsible for researching and processing notification of bankruptcy filings received for our customers and to ensure compliance with bankruptcy law after notification within department SLAs established. The associate will be responsible for identifying, comprehending, classifying, and routing various bankruptcy correspondence from the courts, debtors, attorneys, and other interested parties and routing them accordingly. The position will comply with internal policy and procedures on managing all accounts. All positions within the Operations Division are expected to collaborate cross-divisionally to achieve a seamless customer experience; this includes supporting other departments as necessary to meet the business need.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to multitask and independently manage their time daily to ensure productivity and goals are met.
  • Basic computer skills - Knowledge of Windows including Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills - Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas to peers and customers.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the desire to create positive customer experiences.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of auto finance experience preferred.
  • Bankruptcy experience a plus.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITION:

  • Work performed in a remote environment.
  • Heavy volume of accounts.
  • Must be prepared to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Shift based with an average of 40 hours per week, yet overtime may be expected.
  • Employees are subject to extended periods of sitting and vision to monitor and moderate noise levels.

Responsibilities:

  1. Electronically file proof of claims.

  2. Manage Bankruptcy Report through the following:

  • Creating and distributing bankruptcy files to analysts.
  • Repo assignment review and decisioning.
  • Communicating and collaborating with internal/external customers for transports/holds.
  • Manage/research the Verify BK result.
  1. Manage Bankruptcy Support inbox through the following:
  • Fax management.
  • Opening, identifying, and distributing bankruptcy correspondence.
  • Attach documents to accounts as applicable and document receipt via system of record.
  • Responding to bankruptcy correspondence including urgent requests.
  • Completing statement activations
  1. Verify Bankruptcy SR task requests
  • Validate to approve/reject BK tasks utilizing appropriate BK tools and resources such as PACER.
  1. Actively participate in coaching and development sessions/trainings to co-create solutions that enhance individual performance and overall department/team performance.
  2. File reaffirmations electronically.
  3. Manage Recovery vendor list.
  4. Perform all other duties as assigned.
