Description:
Do you enjoy facilities or project management and thrive in an hybrid telework environment that allows you to travel to different offices throughout California? If so, the Department of Industrial Relations’ (DIR) Facilities team is looking for you! As a DIR Facility Analyst, you’ll provide facility planning and management services for over 40 DIR statewide offices and assist with general maintenance services for over 450,000 leased square feet. Facilities Analysts manage multiple facilities-related projects ranging from minor tenant improvements such as painting and installation of new floor coverings, to space planning for office moves and new construction. You will manage a portfolio of state-owned and privately leased sites for the Department and will have the opportunity to work independently in a hybrid telework environment. You will also work collaboratively with the Facilities team on large scale projects and occasionally travel to DIR offices.
The DIR Facilities Team is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and maintenance of all DIR facilities. In this capacity, this role is also responsible for researching construction materials and finish options for facility projects, drafting space planning proposals, and conducting assessments of DIR facilities. The DIR Facilities Team plays a vital role in creating a safe, comfortable, and productive environment for individuals while optimizing efficiency in the workplace. The DIR Facilities Team works collaboratively with private property managers and the Department of General Services (DGS) to address facilities concerns statewide. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Submit general maintenance requests
- Coordinate modifications to workplaces
- Facilitate office moves
- Oversee construction, alterations, and tenant improvements
- Process rent payments
- Coordinate lease agreements (new, amendments, terminations)

The Associate Business Management Analyst classification is being appropriated for this position. If you have list eligibility as an Associate Governmental Program Analyst it will be used to hire you as an Associate Business Management Analyst. The incumbent works in a cubicle environment in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The incumbent is required to work extensively on the computer, as necessary, for email communication, research, and other purposes. Some travel is required to DIR offices and construction sites Statewide. The incumbent will be required to transport items in a safe manner. Work at sites may or may not be climate controlled. The office is in close proximity to restaurants, shopping, and fitness centers.
