Role Summary:
- Degree and/ or Diploma in Shipping / Logistics Studies, Commerce and other relevant
- Minimum 2 years Shipping and/or tanker chartering experience (Palm Oil / Tankers experiences preferred)
- Possess good negotiation skills / problem solving skills
- Possess good business and numerical acumen with leadership & communication skills.
- Possess strong strategic abilities and a wide network of contacts.
- Results-oriented and performance driven
- Knowledge of Palm oil trade preferred but not essential.
- Familiarization with Shipnet, IMOS or other similar systems.
- Fluent in English
Responsibilities:

- Negotiations and fixing of charter parties. Secure and charter-in vessels under competitive terms and freight cost.
- Ensure Tanker / Palm oil / Chemicals / shipping requirements, business objectives such as cargo delivery, ship fixtures and execution are met.
- Responsible and to keep abreast of the freight market and the physical availability of vessels.
- Liaise and communicate with brokers in regard to freight market views / fixture, cargo lines-up and prospects.
- Liaise with traders and operations team within the organization to ensure clear instructions and vessels’ operational and economical performance are optimized.
- Handle and report various aspects of chartering activities
- Monitor and analyse shipping market trend relating to ship owning, chartering and freight levels.
- Foster and maintain relationships with clients.
- Well Familiar with Tanker Operations.
- Record, document fixtures in Shipnet.
- Any ad-hoc duties as and when assigned
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, it is recommended that you should have the following skills and qualifications:• A degree in the related job field.• Those with 1 to 2 years of working exposure or experience in a similar role will have an advantage but not essential.• Willing to relocate to the job location.
