Due to current business opportunities, we are looking to appoint a Associate Civil Engineer to join our fast-growing Water Infrastructure team. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated and high-performing team of water professionals to deliver a range of significant projects for both public and private sector clients both locally and nationally.
We have a diverse base of water clients across the region and this role will contribute to setting and implementing strategy and capability for this client base, with support from the metropolitan water business.

Responsibilities:

The Associate Civil Engineer is responsible for providing consultancy, engineering services, technical input and direction in design in the ANZ region. The role will work alongside Senior Associate and Principal Engineers taking a lead role with project delivery, design management and project management, for positioning and winning projects involving a range of services.
You will assist commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects. The role will support leaders, in terms of team development and growth, building design capability and growing the portfolio.
Key to this role will be to lead the interface with international GID delivery centres in order to improve delivery capability to meet targets and further develop understanding of civil principles.
You will mentor and assist in the development of more junior Engineers, particularly training in the use of civil analysis software, and work collaboratively with other team members to deliver goals and targets of the team, section and Performance Unit.
Attend client meetings, maintain and build on existing client relationships, support strong service delivery and manage technical relationships. Ensure tasks undertaken are understood completely before starting. Regularly report to the Team/Section Lead periodically to ensure that you are on the right track. Monitor time taken as well as forward workload to ensure that the Lead is aware of any upcoming capability.

Relevant tertiary education. Maintains applicable professional body accreditations.
Contribute to successful operation of the Water Infrastructure Section through technical and business leadership.
Knowledge and application of appropriate Health and Safety practices.
Takes a role in quality assurance of projects, fully familiar with and applies Jacobs QA procedures.
Provide leadership in own area of specialisation, sharing and applying technical knowledge to address problems and determine actions.
Authentic and empathetic leadership. People management skills including effective communication.
Determines and addresses underlying client needs. Sets up client feedback systems and confirms satisfaction.
