Job Description

The Associate, Commercial Strategy & Business Operations, reporting to the Manager, Commercial Strategy & Business Operations, will help create new strategies and deliver creative, technology-based programs to drive revenue, while innovating for the future. This role will collaborate with important team members from Engineering, Product, Finance, Marketing, and Partnerships to plan, pursue, evaluate, and achieve our opportunities, maximizing business value.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience in an unstructured and fast-paced environment who thrives at managing multiple priorities at once. You have strong business acumen, coupled with an ability to translate your findings into actionable recommendations. Experience in creating presentations and documentation for a variety of audiences is crucial.   • Collaborate with intra-department teams and other business units to drive the development of inclusive strategies that meet desired objectives, working with team members to develop new products and manage new and existing innovation-based programs.
  • Create new strategies that aim to drive innovation internally and externally with key partners.
  • Manage project planning and execution across multiple projects and initiatives, driving the end-to-end integration of new and existing digital products and innovation programs.
  • Demonstrate the business value associated with the delivery of new and existing digital products and innovation programs, driving well-informed decision-making.
  • Optimize processes, workflows, and systems to drive greater continuity and efficiency.
  • Support with department-wide budgeting and forecasting to achieve financial targets.
  • Build and use data analytics tools to measure the performance of products and innovation programs, deriving insights to iterate and drive greater business results.
  • Collaborate with our Partnership Development team on developing value propositions associated with new technology-based partnerships, working to embed new partners within our core business operations.
  • Lead brief intake sessions with MLSE partners, understanding objectives and ideating innovative, technology-driven solutions for their business challenges.
  • Lead the development of materials to sell our partners new, innovative ideas before briefing our internal teams.
  • Act as a bridge between strategic decision-makers and the operational teams, building well-structured, clear presentations to facilitate planning discussions and providing updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • A graduate with a post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or other relevant areas.
  • At least 2 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, commercial strategy, business operations, or product strategy.
  • Basic knowledge of and passion for the sports industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and deliver successful commercialization initiatives for new and existing products, programs, and innovative initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data and insights to drive actions and results.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
