The Role: Associate (3-5 PQE)
The Department: Litigation Dispute Resolution (International Arbitration/Construction)

THE TEAM :

The team handles both contentious and non-contentious issues associated with the construction and engineering industry and is particularly focused on major projects in the UK and internationally often subject to international arbitration.
Our client base ranges from developers, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and professionals such as architects and engineers across a number of sectors, including oil and gas, renewable energy, transport, water and waste water and retail, commercial and residential development.
The ideal candidate will have experience in disputes arising from infrastructure projects including acting on major International Arbitrations under the various arbitration rules. Experience in energy disputes and ICSID arbitrations is also considered an advantage.
Qualifications:
A qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 3-5 years post qualification experience.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Experience in contentious construction / International Arbitration work;
  • Experience dealing with clients from different jurisdictions is considered helpful but not a pre-requisite
  • Experience from a highly ranked City practice or team;
  • Excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style;
  • Ability to work effectively within an established, close-knit team;
  • Demonstrate ability to confidently interact with clients and develop business pro-actively;
  • A commercial and pragmatic outlook;
  • Additional language skills will be an advantage but not a requirement;
  • Have attained degree certificate(s) from a reputed institution, achieving a minimum grade of 2:1 or equivalent;
  • Be self-motivated and possess a very pro-active attitude;
