Job Description
As an Associate Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor at AECOM you will have the opportunity to work on national infrastructure projects across various sectors including aviation, rail, water, energy and transport.
We are looking for an experienced Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor with 5-10 years’ experience to join our team in Dublin. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts working together to deliver critical national infrastructure projects and programmes.
Our Infrastructure Cost Management team in Ireland deliver all aspects of cost management services across the entire project lifecycle from initial inception, through the design and procurement process and onto the construction delivery and completion. We are looking to grow our team locally to deliver a number of exciting projects and frameworks secured.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management/Engineering course or an appropriate conversion course
  • Infrastructure sector experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner.
  • Ability to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with team lead.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professionally Qualified (or working towards same) – ideally Chartered Status (Quantity Surveying) with the SCSI / RICS, or other equivalent institution CIOB / IEI but not a minimum requirement.
  • A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning
  • Ability to manage multiple projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.
  • Experience of client facing roles
  • Previous experience on Infrastructure projects

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cost management and quantity surveying services for national infrastructure projects and programmes.
  • Coordinate and deliver cost management tasks aligning our approach and plans to our client needs and systems.
  • Ensure we deliver excellence and exceed the client expectations on time, budget, programme and the appropriate quality standards.
  • Empowered to successfully delivery your services with minimum supervision affording you the opportunity build relationships and become the trusted advisor leading to happy clients and repeat business.
  • Liaising with clients, supporting the team lead in order to develop new business and maintain high client satisfaction on existing roles.
  • Preparation of cost estimates, plans and reports.
  • Undertake cost analysis exercises to inform decision making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Cost Management procedures, templates and products referring ideas to the appropriate line manager.
  • Both manage and deliver projects independently and/or in conjunction with the support of other members of the team.
