Robert Half Legal Permanent Placement is seeking an Associate Attorney with a favorite client in the Providence, RI area. The Associate Counsel will exercise strong leadership in shaping our compliance policies, risk management strategies and regulatory procedures. Key Responsibilities
Evaluate new and existing products and services for compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Support teams to ensure compliance considerations are reflected within new and existing products, services, vendor management, and contracting processes.
Act as a legal adviser on complex compliance issues, while collaborating and communicating effectively with internal stakeholders.
Monitor and stay current with relevant state and federal laws to ensure company compliance.
Identify potential legal and compliance risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
Handle interactions with regulatory agencies and coordinate their inquiries and examinations.
Create action plans related to external market conduct exams and internal audits.
Basic Qualifications
A law degree and admission to a State Bar.
Three years of legal experience, with emphasis on regulatory and compliance matters.
Experience establishing a compliance program for a property & casualty insurance company on a multi-jurisdictional basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms.
Familiarity with residual market auto insurance plan rules and regulations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Exceptional organizational and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
