About this role

Job Title: Associate, Data Engineer, Engineer III
Location: 725 Ponce De Leon Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30306
Summary of duties: Participate in the complete lifecycle of projects, including inception, understanding requirements, and architecting, developing, deploying, and maintaining applications. Work with a multidisciplinary team by partnering with program and product managers to expand product offering based on business demands. Drive up user engagement and adoption of the platform while constantly working towards modernizing and improving platform performance and scalability. Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with teams within DOE team as well as with the wider Aladdin developer community. Provide production support for applications for issues that cannot be resolved by operations teams. Interact with various teams for deployment and maintenance of applications. Prepare user documentation to maintain both development and operations continuity. Adhere to BlackRock’s UX and design standards and contribute towards upkeep of those standards. Utilize information technologies including Python, Java, Go, MySQL, Sybase, MongoDB, InfulxDB, Cassandra, and HBase, among others.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation including two (2) years of experience in each of the following: programming using Java to develop and enhance platform which works with data to enhance client’s business; utilizing object-oriented design pattern and implementing business requirements using object-oriented languages; developing and working with relational databases; working with multi-tier application architecture and high performance distributed and in-memory caching solutions; and adhering to software development life cycle best practices including test-driven development, unit testing discipline, agile development, and CI/CD strategies.
