The School rated number 1 in WA public universities and number 2 in Australia for nursing (Undergraduate Overall Educational Experience, Good Universities Guide 2023) and graduates the most registered nurses in Western Australia, as well as providing a comprehensive range of postgraduate programs of study which prepare students for positions in the nursing and midwifery professions.
The School‘s research is focused across four key areas: ‘aged care’, ‘acute and chronic disease prevention, management and survivorship’, ‘safety, quality and workforce’, and ‘safe, quality midwifery care’, who are driven by a commitment to inspire excellence in nursing and practice through innovative and strategic research. The research we do is in collaboration with our well-established health care partnerships, and we create opportunities to share, learn, mentor, create, and promote top-quality nursing and midwifery knowledge to improve care worldwide.
Reporting directly to the Executive Dean, School of Nursing and Midwifery, the Associate Dean will play a pivotal role in guiding our academic and professional nursing community towards new heights of excellence. Your leadership will inspire both staff and students alike to pursue knowledge through a lens of humanitarian principles of social justice, equity, and inclusion. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the direction of nursing education and research, ensuring our graduates are not only proficient clinicians, but also ethical leaders and advocates for health equity.
This significant position will be at the heart of our senior management team, making your mark both nationally and within the industry. Your leadership will be crucial in steering industry consultation, enriching our student experience, and advocating for quality improvements.
If successful, you will be appointed to a continuing academic position as Professor or Associate Professor within the School. You will serve an initial term of three years as Associate Dean (Nursing).

Qualifications & Experience
The successful applicant will be registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (as a nurse).
