EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Five plus years of progressive experience in undergraduate admissions, preferably with some as a regional representative, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Understanding of the selective college admission process
  • Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Participate in the application review process in both the primary Mid-Atlantic market and act as a supplementary reader for additional markets and schools. Perform detailed evaluation of students’ academic records throughout high school by evaluating the high school transcript, recommendation letters, personal essays, extra-curricular activities, and other accompanying documents. Serve as a member of the Committee on Admission and the Merit Scholarship Committee for both the early and regular application cycles.
  • Manage selected mid-Atlantic territory. Review travel history and analyze interest in the College for assigned geographic territory in order to schedule appropriate high school visits and to best serve students and school counselors throughout the application process. Determine appropriate use of travel time to meet the established recruitment goals, both for the market and the overall class. Create and maintain relationships with school counselors, students, and families while building out reputation across the territory. Travel independently throughout the geographic territory for approximately eight weeks in the fall and six to eight weeks in the spring.
  • Arrange interview days and outreach events to increase the exposure of Providence College in the region. Engage high school counselors in learning more about the academic excellence and culture at Providence College so they can guide the appropriate students to apply to PC. Meet with prospective students and parents to answer questions in person, via email, and on the phone on an as-needed basis. Provide detailed information about the admission process, the application review process, and the typical applicant pool statistics to students and counselors to yield the appropriate applicants to the College. Assist in the production of yield events for invited students and families in the region to encourage them to enroll in PC.
  • Engage students via electronic platforms for the purposes of information exchange and notification of upcoming events and deadlines.
