Associate Design Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Associate Design Engineer will be responsible for structural analysis and design of steel structures (products) to be manufactured by Grid Structures, including transmission poles, substation dead-end structures, substation static poles, and substation equipment support structures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Civil)
• Familiarity with steel design and manufacturing, preferably in the Electric Utility Steel Pole Industry.
• An understanding of steel fabrication, welding procedures, connection design, and quality assurance through experience or education.
• A working competency using AutoCAD or other drafting software · Organizational and time management skills to ensure project schedules are maintained.

• Interpretation of customer specifications, design criteria and drawings.
• Production of Product designs for quotation and project phases.
• Application of industry codes and governance regarding design of Products
• Coordination with drafting and detailing for the conversion of design information into drawings.
• Communications with customers to gain clarifications and technical decisions where necessary.
