Job Description

HERE’S WHAT WE WILL NEED FROM YOU;

We are looking for an established practitioner with the following:

  • Experience in developing climate change resilience adaption strategies at an organisational level.
  • Experience in climate risk assessment of infrastructure systems and assets, including developing/designing adaptation and resilient solutions (incl. engineered and natural solutions) for infrastructure.
  • Experience across a range of infrastructure sectors: transport, water/wastewater, waste, energy, urban infrastructure, etc.
  • Proven track record in winning and delivering infrastructure, urban/regional and/or business focused climate risk assessment and adaptation strategies both in the Ireland, UK and overseas.
  • Experience with climate change mitigation and adaptation projects and strong understanding of the role that infrastructure interventions, spatial planning and governance play to increase sustainability and resilience of development.
  • Familiarity with climate projections including using them to build the case with colleagues, clients and their advisors for resilient and adaptive design and planning.
  • Familiarity with wider ESG policy and practice and linkages with adaptation and resilience for infrastructure and multi-national business
  • A desire to deliver technical excellence.
  • A solution-oriented self-starter who can design and deliver work under own initiative.
  • Commercial awareness for technical delivery, business development, marketing, and proposal preparation.
  • Strong industry profile with experience presenting at conferences and publishing knowledge products in professional journals or other channels.

Responsibilities:

Due to exceptional growth in demand for our services we are currently recruiting for an Associate Director with a track record of assessing climate change risk and identifying and implementing climate resilience and adaptation solutions across a range of sectors and scales, from strategic business wide approaches to individual infrastructure schemes, to come and join our Carbon & ESG (C&ESG) practice covering Ireland and UK.

We are seeing an increase in demand for climate risk assessment and associated adaptation and resilience strategies. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Strengthen our position as a leader in climate risk assessment and adaptation strategies for infrastructure and business clients in the Ireland, UK and across the European region.
  • Working with the practice leadership to develop our climate change resilience service offerings with practical and viable solutions for clients.
  • Contribute to the delivery of our ambitious business plan; growing our share of the market in infrastructure and wider business resilience and climate adaptation by winning work with new/existing clients in the Ireland, UK and across the EMEA region.
  • Support our infrastructure and urban design teams deliver more climate resilient projects.
  • Lead and deliver commercially successful projects that maintain the high-quality professional outputs that we are known for.
  • Develop talent within the team through line management and mentoring and support the upskilling of our colleagues on climate change resilience and adaptation.
  • You will be supported by your line manager with regular mentoring and in continuing your professional development.
