BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

The Associate Director, Corporate Sustainability & Social Impact reports to the Assistant General Counsel, Corporate Sustainability, Supply Chain & Global Privacy who oversees the development of a comprehensive Corporate Sustainability &Social Impact (CSSI) multi-year strategy and the related external disclosure strategy.
The Associate Director of Corporate Sustainability & Social Impact will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing comprehensive, multi-year sustainability and social impact strategies aligned with Jazz values, business objectives and reporting requirements. The successful candidate will work and assist in managing cross-functional initiatives to drive positive environmental and social change, enhance the company’s reputation, support ESG regulatory compliance, and contribute to long-term business success. The role continually monitors changes in relevant laws, regulations and stakeholder expectations of company related to strategy and disclosure practices.
This individual will work closely with others in numerous functional areas including but not limited to, R&D, Human Resources, Patient Advocacy & Patient Centricity, Technical Operations, Procurement, Legal, Corporate and Government Affairs, Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy and Transformation Office.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven experience in supporting the development and execution of ESG and/or sustainability and social impact strategies at a corporate level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences including, but not limited to senior and executive leadership, key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, leadership and external stakeholders to develop and execute strategies and initiatives while driving measurable results.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent judgment with the ability to provide pragmatic and strategic sustainability advice to the business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to address and make informed decisions on sustainability and other business challenges.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of sustainability trends, emerging issues, and best practices within the pharmaceutical or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of relevant environmental and social regulations, reporting frameworks, best practices, and industry standards (e.g., SASB, GRI, CSRD, CS3D, SEC Climate Disclosure Rule).
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and effective resource allocation.
  • Periodic travel throughout the United States and Europe is required.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND LICENSES:

  • BS degree required in sustainability, environmental science, business or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in sustainability or corporate social responsibility with strong preference for past professional experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences or healthcare industry.
  • Professional certifications in sustainability or corporate social responsibility (e.g., LEED AP, ISSP, other) are a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally across the entire organization to execute and provide support in the following areas:
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine a Corporate Sustainability & Social Impact strategy that aligns with the business, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, investors, and community partners, to promote transparency and collaboration.
  • Support and provide guidance on Jazz Corporate Sustainability & Social Impact pillars initiatives to drive measurement, progress and ultimately execution of the pillar roadmaps.
  • Support and provide guidance to identify relevant and robust metrics aligned with mandatory and voluntary reporting standards to enhance the organization’s ESG performance and public disclosures.
  • Develop and support implementation of process for the accurate and timely reporting of sustainability metrics, complying with relevant reporting frameworks and standards.
  • Foster a culture of sustainability and social responsibility among employees through education, communication, and participation in volunteer and community engagement activities.
  • Identify, develop and support implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize advanced project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor sustainability and social impact projects. Develop comprehensive project plans, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Support strategic development, execution and oversight of any other relevant project within the Legal, Corporate and Government Affairs team, as needed.
