Job Description
Our award-winning Ecology Team is recruiting for Associate Directors, Principal, Senior and Consultant Ecologists.

Our Nature team comprises of experts spread across multiple offices, who form an alliance dedicated to pioneering innovative solutions to support an environmental carbon and nature positive future. From large-scale ecological survey programmes to integrating nature into decision-making and investment planning, our team champions nature positive outcomes.
With a wealth of experience, knowledge, and specialist skill sets, our in-house team of 150 ecologists, marine ecologists, arboriculturists, environmental economists includes national and global leaders located across the UK and Republic of Ireland, from species licence holders to experts in impact assessment, habitat creation, ecosystem restoration, enhancement, and management. Our Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) professionals not only influence policy and guidance but steer practical and collaborative design decisions that promote positive outcomes.

We are particularly looking for:

  • Associate Directors for Basingstoke or Croydon;
  • Principal Ecologists for Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Basingstoke or Croydon;
  • Senior Ecologists for Nottingham, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Basingstoke or Croydon;
  • Consultant Ecologist for Newcastle, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Basingstoke or Croydon.

AECOM have come up with a creative way to alleviate these problems. It’s the Peak Season Flex contract. Join our Nature Team as a full-time employee, with all the benefits, both financial and personal and keep your continuous service record. You will be paid the same each month but take 3 months off every winter. You will be free to follow your dreams; learn a new skill; travel; even work at a different company as long as it isn’t a conflict of interest; or just spend quality time with family and friends safe in the knowledge that your salary will keep on rolling in.
We expect you to work hard, but you will be part of a team on a Peak Season Flex contract fully embedded into the wider Nature Team at AECOM. Does this sound exciting to you? The Peak Season Flex contract is open to all grades of ecologists, except Graduates and Apprentices due to the year-round training requirements of these grades.
