Description:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years’ experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required Https://Www.Ecfr.Gov/Current/Title-22/Chapter-I/Subchapter-M/Part-120/Subpart-C/Section-120.62
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
  • Requires a current Customs Broker License or candidates must have passed the Customs Broker License Examination within 1 year. Candidates must possess this Customers Brokers License or have taken the Custom Brokers License exam within 1 year of the time of application to be considered
  • Experience supervising team members
  • Experience working with U.S. and international customs laws and regulations
  • Experience in developing and managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), guiding process improvements and creating customs related communications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An advanced degree in Customs law or an MBA are highly preferred
  • Global Trade and Customs experience in the manufacturing industry working for a U.S. DoD contractor highly preferred
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, specifically related to motivating, coaching and developing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders and interface at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complexity and ambiguity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Global Trade Customs, reporting to the Director & Assistant General Counsel, Global Trade (GT) Program Office, and providing organizational direction to a team of customs professionals.
This role will be responsible for the full and compliant implementation of Raytheon’s Global Customs Compliance Program and requires collaboration within Raytheon Global Trade and with other Raytheon business functions, including the Global Customs Organization (GCO) shared services. Additionally, this opportunity will present Raytheon on the Corporate Customs Leadership Team, managing enterprise risk while ensuring a standard program design and ultimately set the mission, vision, and strategy of the customs organization globally.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Develop customs strategies, establish goals, and implement initiatives to achieve the overall GT mission, which includes contributing to the financial health of the organization
  • Lead a team of Customs professionals and provide support and mentorship to other customs team members across the organization
  • Measure and report on customs program status to business and corporate stakeholders, managing and mitigating risks to ensure Raytheon’s upright compliance posture/customs health
  • Write, implement, and manage procedures and policy requirements, embedding customs requirements into other functional areas, including partnering with the enterprise services customs organization to ensure effective operating procedures
  • Provide advice to Raytheon senior stakeholders and GCO regarding customs matters or customs terms in contract negotiations
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders, assisting when critical customs issues are escalated
  • Oversee Raytheon’s participation in customs voluntary programs and global supply chain security programs
