Description:
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF IMMUNOLOGY
Location: Wallonia, Belgium
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Director of Immunology to join a biotech company. You will play a key role in leading and managing the research and development efforts in the field of immunology. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including setting strategic goals, developing research plans, managing budgets, overseeing the work of scientists and clinicians, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Set strategic goals and develop research plans for the immunology department, with a focus on translating scientific discoveries into novel therapeutic modalities for autoimmune diseases and cancer.
- Manage budgets and resources for immunology research projects, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and efficient use of funds.
- Oversee the work of scientists and clinicians in the immunology department, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster a collaborative and productive research environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ethical guidelines for animal research.
- Represent the company at scientific conferences and meetings, disseminating research findings and establishing collaborations with other leading institutions in the field.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in immunology research through active participation in scientific conferences, workshops, and seminars, and by maintaining a strong network of scientific contacts.
Qualifications
- PhD in immunology or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of scientific excellence in the field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a proven track record of success in leading and managing research projects.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of scientists and clinicians, and to effectively manage budgets and resources.
- Experience in developing and managing research budgets, with a strong understanding of financial planning and resource allocation.
- Proven track record of success in leading research projects, from conception to execution, with a focus on delivering high-quality results within budget and on time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong collaborative spirit and a willingness to share knowledge and expertise with others.
