For this role, you will also have the following:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree-level education
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
- Good working knowledge of IFRS / UK GAAP
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCES:
- Experience of managing professional staff
- Significant experience in Taxation 5-10 years
- Experience of working in a SAP environment and good working knowledge of system migration / implementations
- Working / managing a Tax function from a different region
- Management / right-sizing compliance outsourcing arrangements across taxes
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Fully qualified with all levels of experience – ACA and/or CTA
- Good commercial and business understanding in Pharmaceutical industry
- Good communication skills at all levels
- Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making
- Good understanding of IT – systems and processes related to tax, finance / operations
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is for a senior appointment within the Group’s tax function with responsibility for supporting the development and execution of all aspects of its taxation strategy. This includes responsibilities across its global Tax Operations (compliance, reporting), Transfer Pricing, M&A, business partnering and BEPS 2.0.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Business partnering across a range of stakeholder groups, including legal, HR, Finance, and commercial teams
- Oversee aspects of the Group’s Tax Operations, including compliance and reporting activities. Experience in UK compliance and reporting matters is strongly desired.
- Identify and execute opportunities to improve and streamline processes through the adoption of a continuous improvement mindset
- Responsibility for oversight and delivery of transfer pricing framework, including the design, monitoring and delivery of the Group’s model.
- Communicate tax implications to relevant stakeholders in relation to business projects and as part of commercial negotiations
- Input into strategic commercial projects including inorganic growth opportunities such as licensing arrangements and M&A mandates.
- Input into strategic tax initiatives, including BEPS 2.0 and wider risk management, control frameworks, and governance (e.g. SAO, CCO).
- Manage relationships with external consultants in order to help support business restructuring, product/business acquisitions and tax planning
