EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification. Advanced degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 10+ years). 5+ years of management responsibility. Proven leadership skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience with IT Operations or Systems Development.
  • Minimum of 5 years project management experience or similar leadership type role.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in management of technical staff.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an IT business liaison role, working with senior business managers.
  • Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to multi task and pay close attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

MANAGEMENT ROLE:

  • Directs through lower management levels and / or highly skilled specialist employees who exercise significant latitude and independent judgment. Often heads one or more departments or a large centralized staff function. In some instances may be responsible for a functional area (as determined by Executive Management) and not have subordinate supervisors or employees. May manage employees across multiple regions.

Directs systems development and/or IT operations staff in providing IT services to assigned business functions or locations. This position is responsible for providing senior IT direction for a functional area across multiple locations. The goal of this position is to ensure the IT requirements for their assigned business functions or locations are efficiently, effectively met by all involved IT staff. Is a member of the SG&A PPI team, working remote on a matrix approach with Divisional PPI Leads.

  • Hires, develops and manages staff.
  • Liaises with business functions and/or locations to ensure IT priorities are in step with the business priorities and that commitments are being delivered on time and within budget.
  • Leads IT teams, operational management and cross functional teams to ensure a high standard of service and adherance to internal controls and procedures.
  • Advises and consults with business functions and/or locations on information technology requests, services and capabilities.
  • Advises on the potential impact of current and future laws and regulations on the operation of the organization.
  • Coordinates IT participation in Business Development, sponsor or regulatory audits ensuring accurate and timely responses.
  • Manages assigned vendor relationships and contracts to ensure contractual obligations and business requirements are met at the best available price and quality expectation.
  • Generates and manages departmental expense and capital budget
