General Description:

  • Reporting into the Senior Director, Market Access Sub-Region Europe (SRE), the Associate Director for Market Access, SRE, Oncology is an operational market access role responsible for the Market Access and Pricing of BeiGene’s solid-tumor assets in assigned countries within Sub- Region Europe, a region consisting of Switzerland, Netherlands, Poland, Nordics (DK, FI, IS, NO, SE) , and EU member states from Eastern Europe (BG, EE, CZ, HR, HU, LT, LV, RO, SI, SK) , Greece, Cyprus and Malta.
  • The geographic scope of this role will exclude the Nordics; market responsibilities will be assigned by the Senior Director for Market Access in SRE in collaboration with the successful candidate.
  • This position is responsible for developing and delivering on the Pricing and Reimbursement (P&R) plan for the assigned countries considering broader European and Global launch sequencing as well as Global pricing guidance. The successful candidate will partner with European HEOR, SRE Commercial and Medical Affairs teams to develop P&R applications. Further, the person in this role will actively lead and/or support the Senior Director, Market Access SRE or potential Distribution Partner in negotiations with national reimbursement authorities across assigned countries. Finally, this role contributes to cross-functional launch readiness activities, driving or co-leading with Medical and Marketing any activities whose primary objective is securing P&R.

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Working cross-functionally with Region / Country Commercial as well as Regional Market Access to refine EU P&R objectives in assigned markets.
  • Executing value & access related projects such as landscape assessments, payer market research, P&R advisory boards and general guidance on local strategies
  • Driving and being accountable for on-time P&R dossier submission and conclusion of negotiations by customizing European Value Dossier, value messages and toolkits to the needs of assigned markets.
  • Monitoring the market access and health policy environment, identifying early trends that may impact BeiGene business.
  • Sharing the implications with Country and SRE leadership teams and educating cross-functional stakeholders about potential strategic, operational, and financial implications of trends.
  • Providing input into pipeline evidence generation, new product, and indication expansion plans.
  • Creating and maintaining a strong contact network with key players and their influencers.
  • Supporting negotiations for national reimbursement.
  • Developing innovative pricing and value based contracting models if needed to optimize the acceleration of reimbursement approval and post-reimbursement uptake.
  • Other market access related tasks as assigned by the Senior Director of Market Access, SRE.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct supervision; high level of cross functional and pan-regional collaborations with internal stakeholders as well as potential Distribution Partner.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and impose structure on unstructured information / problems.
  • A minimum of 6 years of pharmaceutical industry and 4+ years in market access positions is required. Experience can be from a strategy & operations consulting firm, direct employment at a Pharma company or combination of both.
  • Experience in pricing and reimbursement in 2+ European HTA markets is a must.
  • Demonstrated success and experience supporting oncology product pre-launch, launch and post-launch activities is essential.
  • In-depth understanding of how to navigate payer systems without prior experience in the market is critical.
  • Experience with HTA dossier preparation, submission and negotiation is preferred.
  • Candidate should have demonstrated experience engaging with payers and/or negotiating price and reimbursement conditions with public administration and health authorities.
  • Candidate should understand key HEOR concepts and be capable of understanding the structure of and navigating economic models; candidate will be external agencies’ primary contact, and candidate will need to interact with HEOR to overcome any potential challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic insights into practical suggestions for HEOR-led initiatives aimed at supporting solid-tumor brands.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Highly skilled in influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders and with scientific and commercial teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of market access strategy, opportunity and risks.
  • Oncology or Hematology-Oncology market experience strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in English required; advanced business language proficiency (C1+ level) in Dutch, German, 1+ Slavic languages, Romanian, or Greek preferred.

Education Required:

  • Any university-level degree provided candidate demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and analytical skills along with ability to comprehend clinical data.

Computer Skills:

  • Candidate must possess intermediate to advanced competencies in MS Excel. Other intermediate to advanced computer skills required. This role will have a high-volume of work content and administrative duties to manage. Sufficient computer skills will enable the candidate to remain efficient.

Travel:

  • Approximately 30% of time
