Description:

Strategic Work with the CCO and other members of the Clinical Senior Leadership Team to prepare business, budgetary and workforce plans for long term multiyear planning. Lead on and regularly update the charitys clinical and care standard operating policies and procedures in line with latest guidance, evidence, and best practice. Develop partnerships with key external stakeholders such as other Alliance organisations, ICS partners and other hospices to help further the organisations strategic plans and ambitions. Drive increases in the scope, reach and scale of St Helena care services.
Ensure that a reputation for excellence in all aspects of care delivery and full regulatory compliance for the organisation is maintained at all times. Corporate Proactively fulfil responsibilities as a key member of the Clinical Senior Leadership Team, deputising for the CCO where appropriate to do so and working collaboratively with colleagues to roll out directorate and charity-wide initiatives, leading on the delivery of transformation projects as appropriate. Work with the Associate Director of Operations to ensure cross-cover in support of Matrons and teams. Represent the organisation at senior level internally and externally, this including with health and care partners, within the North East Essex Health and Wellbeing Alliance, in the ICS and a range of relevant forums / working parties.
Forge positive working relationships with peers in partner organisations and with other key stakeholders. Prepare and present papers to the Board and Committees as appropriate. Operational Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Act as Accountable Officer for Controlled Drugs.
Act as, or support the delegated role of, Caldicott Guardian - working with the DPO to ensure compliance with all data protection and information governance legislation. Act as Registered Manager for St Helena charitable services and as Designated Individual for CQC purposes. Work with other St Helena registered managers to maintain high collective standards and share learning. Support the submission of timely and accurate statutory returns to all relevant bodies.
Be responsible for negotiating, monitoring, and managing agreements with health and care commissioners and partner organisations in conjunction with the Associate Director of Business Management. Maintain good relationships with funders of care services and ensure all relevant conditions of funding are met. Represent the organisation within the Alliance and ICS and act as a system leader working toward integrated care services for frailty, palliative and end of life care services in North East Essex. Provide clinical leadership and support to capital projects and significant business developments.
Oversee the delivery of agreed activity capacity, access and any other targets agreed. Support the development of new care service opportunities and ventures. Managerial Ensure the recruitment and effective performance management of staff, including regular supervision, coaching, appraisal, training, and development in line with agreed policies. Ensure there are clear workforce plans, talent management and career progression pathways for nursing and AHPs across St Helena charitable and commercial care services.
Work within the charitys operational framework of delegated authorities, financial management and decision making. Work collaboratively with the CCO and Associate Director of Operations to develop clinical leadership across hospice care services. Ensure all clinical staff have access to regular clinical supervision and also to coaching and/or mentoring where appropriate. Support the development of comprehensive workforce plans and development pathways for all clinical teams and competencies.
Ensure there is an effective plan in place to reduce inequalities in outcomes and overcome barriers in accessing care. General To promote and support the achievement of the charitys mission, goals and values as set out in the strategic guidelines. To act as a positive ambassador for the charity at all times. To maintain a high standard of probity in professional, human resource and financial matters, maintaining good relations with colleagues and external partners and to act in accordance with the charitys code of conduct.
